The Fit and Comfort Guide
A swimsuit can be your size on paper and still feel wrong. True comfort comes from understanding how each part should feel on your body. Here is what to look for.
The band
The band around your ribcage should feel firm and level, never riding up. This is the foundation of support, especially for tops, and should sit comfortably without pinching.
The straps
Straps should stay in place when you raise your arms, without digging in or slipping. You should be able to fit a finger comfortably underneath.
The leg line
Bottoms should follow your leg line smoothly without cutting in or gaping. A little stretch is normal, but the fabric should spring back and stay put as you move.
The movement test
- Raise your arms above your head.
- Bend forward and touch your toes.
- Walk a few steps and sit down.
If everything stays comfortably in place, you have found your fit. That is the moment swimwear disappears and the day begins.
