How to Dry Your Swimwear the Right Way
Drying is the step where most swimwear is quietly damaged. Tumble dryers, radiators, harsh sun and wringing all shorten the life of your favourite pieces. Fortunately the right method is the easiest one.
Lay flat in the shade
The gold standard is to lay your swimwear flat on a dry towel in a shaded, airy spot. This keeps the shape intact and protects colours from fading.
Avoid heat entirely
Never use a tumble dryer, radiator or hairdryer. Heat destroys elastane, the fibre responsible for stretch and recovery, leaving fabric loose and lifeless.
Skip the clothes peg
Hanging a wet swimsuit by one corner stretches it out of shape under its own weight. If you must hang it, fold it gently over a rail instead.
Dry your swimwear kindly and it keeps its supportive, like-new fit far longer than you might expect.
