How to Care for Your Swimwear

A beautifully made swimsuit is an investment, and like any investment it rewards a little care. The good news is that keeping your swimwear in perfect condition takes only a few minutes and some easy habits.

Rinse after every swim

Salt, chlorine and sunscreen are the main enemies of elastic fabric. Rinse your swimwear in cool fresh water as soon as you can, ideally before the residue dries into the fibres.

Wash by hand

Hand-washing in cool water with a gentle detergent protects the elastane and colours far better than a machine. It takes two minutes and dramatically extends the life of each piece.

Dry in the shade

Lay your swimwear flat in the shade to dry. Direct sun and radiators break down elastic fibres, while wringing distorts the shape permanently.

Rotate your pieces

Giving each swimsuit a full day to recover between wears lets the elastane regain its shape, so your favourites stay supportive for longer.

Treat your swimwear gently and it will look as good at the end of summer as it did on the first day.
